Actor Denies Anti-Vaccine Stance After Lending His Voice To Controversial Coronavirus Film

The acclaimed actor has provided his vocal talents to a new documentary that questions the legitimacy of immunizations and lauds ex- government figure RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Foundation

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book co-authored by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for claims that the virus was linked to a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.

Her co-author, the executive producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. The producer wrote online praising Neeson's involvement in the project.

An Unequivocal Denial

Representatives for Neeson have issued a response strongly denying suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine sentiments.

"We all recognize that misconduct can exist within the medical sector, but that must not be confused with being against vaccines," the statement reads. "He never has been, and remains not, against vaccines. His extensive work with the UN children's agency reinforces his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

It continued that the star had no hand in the project's narrative and that concerns about its assertions ought to go to the producers.

Key Themes Featured in the Documentary

In the film, the script read by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have called for "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "research has become deeply politicised."
  • RFK Jr is shown stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
  • It takes aim at pandemic restrictions, saying they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning Covid vaccines, it cites a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Background and Recent Issues

It includes a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the subject of a BBC apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the film, despite a recent study from the World Health Organisation stating no such link has been found.

A Past Position of Endorsement

Standing in contrast to the film's message, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."

The film ends with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the finish of our journey. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
