British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”
