The Reform UK leader Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
