The Streaming Giant Chooses Perfect Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
The platform declared this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. The role can use their power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a interpretation of that figure reimagined as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the source material and cartoon version.
Escola is joined by multiple fresh additions set to bring Baroque Works to reality, including head Mr. 0, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who is also part of the ensemble as the monarch of Alabasta.
Although Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this marks a significant shift in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Their mix of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the character. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10, 2026.
